At Starfish Pediatrics, we believe every child is a star. We are a Jacksonville pediatric practice devoted to comprehensive, compassionate care for your little ones, from their first days as a newborn through the teen years.

Starfish Pediatrics in Baymedows Jacksonville offers complete care from newborn to young adult. We see children from birth to age 21, so your family can stay with one practice as your child grows. Our services include newborn visits, well-child checkups, vaccines, sick visits, sports and school physicals, and teen health care.

The Starfish difference

Visits that are not rushed. We plan appointments so there is time for your questions. Feeding, sleep, behavior, school and growth concerns are all welcome topics.

Care that follows national guidelines.We follow the American Academy of Pediatrics schedule for well-child visits and the CDC schedule for immunizations, and we explain the reasons behind each recommendation.

Same-day sick visits. When your child wakes up with a fever or an earache, you should not have to wait a week. Call us before 10 am and we will reserve a same-day appointment for established patients whenever possible.

Care in your language, not through an interpreter
Our pediatricians and staff speak both English and Spanish. You can describe symptoms, ask questions and hear the answers in the language you think in. We also provide visit summaries, prescriptions instructions and school or sports forms in English or Spanish.

I bring both of my kids to Dr. Maria and Dr. Guzman, the ease of making the appointment, the walk in if needed are some of the best qualities they have to offer. Often as a parent we tend to quickly react to “ a child with fever” the fact that the office will always make room to fit your child into their schedule is amazing. Ever since my kids are with Starfish Pediatrics we did not have to use an ER or urgent care. That speaks volume to me. Very clean, neat place, super sweet staff.

The staff and doctors are great! You can get your child in when they are sick very quickly. The doctor spends time with you and your child in the exam room. They explain things in great detail that you can actually understand. The clinic is always kept very clean.

I couldn't be happier with this clinic. Dr. Guzman and Dr. Maria are both amazing! They have seen my son since he was a few days old and now at almost 8 months he loves seeing both of them. They are gentle and take their time to talk with you and get to know your child. The assistants and office staff are always incredibly friendly too!

Great location. Great staff. Wait times can be pretty lengthy but I will say that the office is VERY accommodating and the Dr. takes his time with his patients. He is extremely personable! He is very detailed and I love that about him!

I have been with Starfish Pediatrics since my 10 year old was 3, we have added another child to the family since, I have no complaints, Dr is always available to see my kids whenever I call in the same day, which is very important because kids get sicker way faster than adults. Facility is clean and the staff is attentive, I would say they need to improve their waiting time and correspondence, but no place is perfect!
